Art Certificate Program
The Art Certificate Program explores a variety of media and assists artists in honing their personal artistic strengths and style, and is located right on Main Street in downtown Biddeford. The Art Certificate Program, artists earn a certificate by building a foundation of skills within a wide variety of artistic disciplines, choosing a concentration, and deepening their skills within that medium; through creating a self-directed body of work. The Art Certificate Program as well as The Art Department Program explore a variety of media and assists artists in honing their personal artistic strengths and style while forging connections for exhibition opportunities as well as relationships with community artists.
The Art Department
The Art Department is a nonprofit leadership program that advocates career exploration for Maine artists with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The artists in this program utilize the open concept studio space to explore a wide array of professional artistic practices including, but not limited to, fine art, filmmaking, and digital media. The Art Department Program as well as the Art Certificate Program strive to reach their creative potential, in an environment that encourages each individual to develop technical skills, as well as collaborations with local artists, strategies for self-promotion, and connections through community events that contribute to the greater Portland art scene and beyond.
